Diwali Pujan Vidhi/Diwali Laxmi Pooja 2020
- Clean the place where Diwali puja will be perform
- On a raised platform spread a new cloth.
- Place a handful of grains in the centre and, on this, place a kalash, lotta(pitcher). Fill three-fourth of the kalashwith water and place a betel nut, a flower, a coin, and some rice grains in it.
- Arrange five kinds of leaves or mango leaves in the kalash.
- Place a small dish on the kalashand fill it with rice grains.
- Draw a lotus with turmeric powder ( haldi) over the rice grains and place the idol of goddess Lakshmi over it, along with coins.
- In front of the kalash, on the right (South-West direction), place the idol of Ganesha.
- After placing the idol ganesha place ink and books related to your business or occupation on the platform.
- Light a deepak (lamp) and the Agarbatti (incense sticks) begin the pujaby offering haldi, kumkum , and flowers to the platform on which the kalashis placed.
- Sprinkle this holi water (ganga jal) on all puja utensils to purify them.
- Make a Panchamitra with 5 ingredients of milk, curd, ghee(clarified butter), sugar & honey.
- Start with Ganesh Pujan by reciting Ganesh Mantras and Ganesh aarti. Offer a garland to the god.
- Offer flowers and make an offering of sweets, coconut and fruits.
- Now invoke goddess Laxmi by reciting the Laxmi mantras.
- Offer the flowers to the idol.
- Place the idol of Lakshmi in a plate and bathe it with water, panchamritand then with water containing some gold ornament or a pearl.
- Wipe the idol clean and place it back on the kalash. Alternately, you can just sprinkle water and panchamrit on the idol with a flower.
- Offer sandal paste, haldi, kumkum, to the goddess.
- Offer a garland to the goddess. Offer flowers and make an offering of sweets, coconut and fruits.
- Then worship the ink and business books. Open the first page of each book and write ' Shubha Labh' on it and draw a Swastika in the clockwise direction.
- Wash all your gold and silver coins with water,panchamritand then with water
- Make an offering of puffed rice and batashato the Gods.
- Finally, perform the aartifor goddess Laxmi and the universal aarti.
- At the end distribute the prasad to all members present and they have something for you.
- Now touch the feet of all the elder members of family.
- Now light the lamps and candles all around the house. No corner of the house should be left in darkness.

Ganesha Chaturthi Puja Vidhi
Lord Ganesha is worshipped with all sixteen rituals along with chanting of Puranik Mantras during Ganesha Chaturthi Puja which is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi Puja. Worshipping Gods and Goddesses with all 16 rituals is known as Shodashopachara Puja (षोडशोपचार पूजा).
Although Ganesha Puja can be done during Pratahkala, Madhyahnakala and Sayankala but Madhyahnakala is preferred during Ganesha Chaturthi Puja. Madhyahnakala Puja time for Ganesha Puja can be known at Ganesha Chaturthi Puja Muhurat.
All rituals which are prescribed during Ganesha Puja are given below and it also includes sixteen steps which are prescribed in Shodashopachara Puja. Deep-Prajawalan (दीप-प्रज्वलन) and Sankalpa (संकल्प) are done before starting the Puja and these two are not part of core sixteen steps of Shodashopachara Puja.
If you have Lord Ganesha installed at your home and is worshipped daily then Avahana (आवाहन) and Pratishthapan (प्रतिष्ठापन) should be skipped as these two rituals are done for newly bought statues of Lord Ganesha either made of clay or made of metal. It should be noted that pre-installed statue of Lord Ganesha at home are not given Visarjan (विसर्जन) but given Utthapana (उत्थापन) at the end of Puja.
On Ganesha Chaturthi, devotees also perform Eka Vinshati Name Ganesh Puja and Lord Ganesha Anga Puja along with the below Shodashopachara Puja.

Ganesha Chaturthi Puja Vidhi
Lord Ganesha is worshipped with all sixteen rituals along with chanting of Puranik Mantras during Ganesha Chaturthi Puja which is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi Puja. Worshipping Gods and Goddesses with all 16 rituals is known as Shodashopachara Puja (षोडशोपचार पूजा).
Although Ganesha Puja can be done during Pratahkala, Madhyahnakala and Sayankala but Madhyahnakala is preferred during Ganesha Chaturthi Puja. Madhyahnakala Puja time for Ganesha Puja can be known at Ganesha Chaturthi Puja Muhurat.
All rituals which are prescribed during Ganesha Puja are given below and it also includes sixteen steps which are prescribed in Shodashopachara Puja. Deep-Prajawalan (दीप-प्रज्वलन) and Sankalpa (संकल्प) are done before starting the Puja and these two are not part of core sixteen steps of Shodashopachara Puja.
If you have Lord Ganesha installed at your home and is worshipped daily then Avahana (आवाहन) and Pratishthapan (प्रतिष्ठापन) should be skipped as these two rituals are done for newly bought statues of Lord Ganesha either made of clay or made of metal. It should be noted that pre-installed statue of Lord Ganesha at home are not given Visarjan (विसर्जन) but given Utthapana (उत्थापन) at the end of Puja.
On Ganesha Chaturthi, devotees also perform Eka Vinshati Name Ganesh Puja and Lord Ganesha Anga Puja along with the below Shodashopachara Puja.
1. Avahana and Pratishthapan (आवाहन एवं प्रतिष्ठापन)
Avahana (आवाहन)
Puja should begin with invocation of Lord Ganesha, one should chant following Mantra in front of the Murti, by showing Avahan Mudra (Avahan Mudra is formed by joining both palms and folding both thumbs inwards).

2. Asana Samarpan (आसन समर्पण)
After Lord Ganesha has been invoked and got installed, take five flowers in Anjali (by joining palm of both hands) and leave them in front of the Murti to offer seat to Shri Ganesha while chanting following Mantra.

3. Padya Samarpan (पाद्य समर्पण)
After offering Asana to Lord Ganesha, offer Him water to wash the feet while chanting following Mantra.

4. Arghya Samarpan (अर्घ्य समर्पण)
After offering Padya to Lord Ganesha, offer scented water to Lord Ganesha while chanting following Mantra.

5. Achamana (आचमन)
After Arghya offering, offer water to Lord Ganesha for Achamana while chanting following Mantra.

After Panchamrita Snanam, now give a bath with Paya (milk) to Shri Ganesha while chanting following Mantra.

Tejah Pushtikaram Divyam Snanartham Pratigrihyatam॥Dadhi Snanam (दधि स्नानम्)
After Dugdha Snanam, now give a bath with curd to Shri Ganesha while chanting following Mantra.
